Why We Do What We Do

We actually run a successful carpet & upholstery cleaning business based in Devon and we service our local domestic customers and our commercial customers UK wide and have done so for over 16 years – So how did we end up doing SEO?

In those 16+ years as a business we have tried lots of marketing methods and numerious companies to take care of this for us – it just seemed like the smart thing to do.

We never seemed to find what we woud call a “complete service”, there was always something lacking; whether it was the set up, the reporting, the cost, the response time or the results – no-one ever seemed to hit the mark in all areas properly.

The costs were wildly fluctuating anywhere from £1000 a month to over £2000 in some cases.

We were paying these third-party UK based marketing agents such huge sums of money each month on a retainer to take care of our website, our SEO, our marketing and lead gen.

Honestly, it was a disappointing mix in terms of results, though mostly bad and mostly leaning toward us getting very little in the way of results, stats or perfromance for an awful lot of outlay – adding up to many thousands spent throughout the year.

This is when we said that things have to change.

Speaking with some of our clients (even the big name brands), they all had similar talkes of woe regarding aspects of their marketing, IT and even lead gen.

We ourselves had to often wait up to a week to get a response to even an email and phone call were very often simply never picked up.

We as a business do not want to sit back and see other companies struggle – it’s simply not right and this is why we now manage everything in-house.

We are happy to provide the same smarts to other service industry type businesses (and others) in order to make the difference.

We are all in this together and our holistic approach to understanding your business and its goals, the hugely reduced outlay on marketing and other costs, will surely have a positive impact on your day-to-day runnings.

This means that you will finally have a service you can trust, from a well establilshed business name already servicing their own clients in your field and most importantly someone who is on-tap any day or time to help or assist.

So Just What Is SEO?

The 3 Main Types of SEO

Why This Should Matter To You

On-Page SEO

The term, “on-page SEO” relates to any of the content on your website pages – simple huh?

It often will include ways to optimise an single page on a website.

These facets then help internet search engines linke Google and Bing etc, understand the feel of the content you have and from there they can see that your website represents a source of information that people will want to find (or not).

This type of SEO includes:

  • Keyword research: This is the art of finding the very best performing keywords to add to a webpage.
  • Content creation: Entails you creating and then publishing high-quality content which is relative to those chosen target keywords
  • Keyword optimization: Using your primary (main) keyword in the correct place and adding meta tags etc wheer appropriate.

Keyword Difficulty Tools are all over the internet that can help with this, though be careful as some changes can do more harm than good to your site – your SEO masters mission is to find all of the relevant, the popular and importantly, the low-competition keywords to place on your website.

Off-Page SEO

Off-page SEO (sometimes known as “off-site” seo) will help strengthen the relative influence and also the relationship your website has with any other websites.

It generally will include effective strategies to build up your site’s reputation and internet authority.

These are facets of SEO that greatly help search engines like Google and Bing, to see that your website is being shown as a search result because it is from a reputable and sought after or trusted source

A lot of off-page SEO is based around working toward high–quality backlinks.

A mass of links pointing to your site from other relevant, equally authoritative websites in fact shows search the engine that your site is valuable to the people searching for certain terms.

These are trust signals built through a variety of link building methods.

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is a dark art and relates to all of the non-content parts that form the make-up of your website.

It will include methods to improve a site’s backend or internal structure and gain a strong foundation.

This type of SEO improves a site’s readability and this in turn makes it easier for search engines to crawl and understand the site and its make-up and also it ensures that the site provides a good user experience (or UX), which in turn makes the search engines see that the site is of a very high quality.

Having a site with a good UX is also important for readers, and this factor alone can have an impact on site traffic and in turn also your user engagement rates.

The types of SEO included in this category relate to:

  • Site loading speed
  • Mobile friendly
  • Indexing
  • Crawler friendliness
  • Site general architecture
  • Image sizes
